Dr. Gen. Adel Abdel Maksoud Afify, Former
Deputy Minister of Interior of the Arab Republic of Egypt and in
addition, an accomplished music composer.
Born in Cairo, March 17, 1945. His talent in
music apparent since early childhood, when started playing the
piano and the accordion. He had attended formal music studies
parallel with his education in the fields of law and police
science. Adel A. Afify is holder of a Masters Degree in),
Masters Degree in police science and a Ph.D. in law.
Music Education:
Adel A. Afify had attended music
theory and piano playing studies in Egypt. During his studies he
had been examined at the British Council by British examiners
from The Royal Schools of Music – an association of Royal
Academies and Royal Colleges of Music in the United Kingdom. In
1975 he had obtained the highest degree possible in the field of
music: LRSM-Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music.

Outstanding performances of the

In the years 1992 and 93, he was
invited twice to Sweden as a music composer where his
composition, Romance for violin and orchestra was played by
the Youth Symphony Orchestra at the main festivity hall in
Stockholm where Noble prize winners receive their awards
annually. The music was well received by the audience and
was selective recorded there on a C.D. Disc as one of the
world's classical music pieces.

On the police day of the
year 2000, he was awarded "THE MERIT OF DISTINCTIONS" golden
medal by the PRESIDENT OF EGYPT for his superiority in his
official work.

2000-01:
performance of various composition in Stockholm, concert Hall,
by the Stockholm Youth Orchestra, Sweden.

In
June 2001 he was Selected “The Man of the Year" In Sweden as
the first Arabic Music Composer in modern history whose
compositions are constantly played successfully in Sweden. A
festival was held on the 6th of September, 2001
to award him the prize of " Man of the Year" and nominated.
Arab ambassadors in Stockholm and representatives of arts
culture and media attended the festival .

In February 7 & 8, 2002
One of his compositions was selected and played at Cairo
Opera House by " Vienna Symphony Orchestra " led by
Mr. Johannes Wildner as one of the selected International
Musical Pieces.

April 6, 2003 world-premiere of
“Swedish Mid Summer Night” Symphonic Fantasy, in Stockholm,
Sweden.

March 9, 2003: world-premiere of
“legend by Meralene Lake” Symphonic Poem in Stockholm, Sweden,
by St. Erik’s Symphonic Orchestra.

2002: concert by the Vienna Opera
Symphonic Orchestra conducted Maestro Johannes Wildner,
visiting the Cairo Opera House, Egypt, performing “Waltz” by
Adel A. Afify.
